Become an Energy Efficiency (EE) Compliance Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. SCE’s EE portfolio is leading the way in California to help customers save energy, reduce energy costs, and contribute to a clean energy future.

In this position, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional projects across multiple subject areas involving cross-functional teams. This position supports SCE’s world-class Advanced Energy Solutions (AES) portfolios, programs, products, and services including EE.

You will develop robust compliance plans, guide EE implementation plan development, and lead the creation and drafting of annual reports, CPUC advice letters, Applications, and regulatory filings associated with SCE’s AES's portfolio. You will lead cross-organizational projects in coordination with internal organizations such as Customer Programs & Services (CP&S), Strategy & Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Ethics & Compliance as well as external organizations such as the CPUC, PG&E, SDG&E, SoCal Gas, and other industry partners. You will serve as SCE’s trusted point of contact regarding EE regulatory compliance and will be empowered to make decisions and provide direction on regulatory compliance initiatives and issues that have a significant impact on CP&S and SCE.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Represents SCE and lead collaboration efforts with IOU (investor-owned utility) and non-IOU program administrators regarding regulatory-related compliance and policy initiatives.

  • Leads the development of, or updates to, select regulatory documents such as Annual Reports, advice letters, implementation plans, responses to rulings or data requests, and others as needed.

  • Interprets regulatory compliance requirements and develop compliance strategies.

  • Ensures and demonstrate compliance with all regulatory and legal directives in the area of EE in collaboration with other advisors, attorneys, program managers, and specialists.

  • Leads the development and maintenance of EE compliance plans, risk ranking assessments, controls, and associated documents to ensure compliance.

  • Builds internal business relationships with Officers, Executives, managers, program managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Promotes and support a culture of personal development and continuous improvement.

  • Applies project management and compliance best practices to develop and implement compliance projects.

The essentials

  • Ten (10) or more years of work experience in a regulatory and/or compliance environment.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience using project management principles.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Public Policy, Engineering, Finance, or other related field.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience performing and developing work products directly associated with ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Experience working in a utility industry.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience reading, synthesizing and writing regulatory-related documents.

  • Experience with customer programs.

  • Project Management certification.

  • Certification in a compliance-related field, such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, etc.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
