The CS Re-Platform (CSRP) is SCE’s multi-year effort to implement a new enterprise customer relationship and billing system that will better serve our customers and support the grid of the future. The program will result in the replacement of more than half of SCE’s customer service legacy applications, including those used for critical customer service functions such as managing customer relationships, outage communication, billing, payment, program enrollment, and much more. CSRP will impact over 200 processes and over 4,000 end users.
The Principal Deployment Manager will manage a team of 8 direct reports and up to 8 matrixed reports (SCE and six Partner organizations). He/she will provide project management support functions overseeing all aspects of Deployment delivery and quality across the CSRP program. This position will be actively involved in all aspects of CSRP activities to mitigate overall risk and ensure activities are driven by quality, prepare, deliver, stabilize and transition Business and Information Technology operations through the areas noted below:
System Readiness : Includes providing pre-go-live quality assurance, testing, data readiness, change and release management functions and integration
Technology Readiness : Includes program infrastructure (SW and HW), data, business continuity and disaster recovery functionality
Organization Readiness : Includes program go-live metric management (e.g. functionality, performance, security) and system and business freezes to meet and/or exceed business outcomes and benefit realization while orchestrating and aligning training and communication standards, processes and activities
Operations Management : Develop the standards and operating procedures that will be used after the project implementation in alignment with existing standards and incorporate new operating procedures. Identify and ensure compliance with system & business freeze, business continuity and disaster recovery, business readiness, and operations transition support
Cutover Management : execution and management of six cutovers; impacting all SAP, Edge and 3 rd -party solutions; all impacted partner, business and IT resources expected to incorporate greater than 5000 steps over a period of several weeks; integrated into and driving program critical path, Go-Live assessment, Go-Live final cutover, and triage orchestration leading to final stabilization
Integration and Governance : Establish and oversee complete deployment framework across multiple vendors, partners and solutions which drive integrated program scheduling, service coordination and process management.
Manage the delivery of documentation to IT and Business operations at end of stabilization. Manage risks, actions, issues and decisions to comply with program standards.
Typical Responsibilities include:
Lead cross functional/complex project/program teams in day-to day execution and compliance with prescribed IT methodology processes, including: quality assurance, vendor management, sourcing management, and program reporting.
Create and manage multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams comprised of internal and external members, including third party vendors and contractors.
Directs the preparation of complex analysis,reviews and makes recommendations and decisions where appropriate. Exercises judgment to determine when issue resolution requires escalation.
Provides recommendations to senior management on process improvements and other critical items.
Responsible for internal/external sourcing plans for onboarding and off-boarding resources.
Work through informal channels in order to obtain information and reconcile.
Perform other duties and responisbilities as assigned.
Seven years of experience in project management, managing large projects, expertise in program management, business development and process improvement methodologies.
Seven years managing/supervising/leading direct and/or matrixed staff.
Experience managing the deployment of multi-million-dollar projects and/or programs.
Experience working with evolving IT technologies (i.e. SAP, Opentext, Click software, Itron, Basis Technologies, cloud solutions, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Graduate Degree in an applicable profession, business or technical discipline.
PMP project management certification or six sigma.
Ten years experience managing one or more org units.
Ten years of experience managing cross functional business and technology solutions.
Experience in developing industry collaborative groups such as industry standards/working groups, regulatory venues, or industry associations.
Experience in developing and executing internal and/or external communications plans for employees, customers, vendors, utilities and regulators.
Knowledge of Company and department policies, objectives, strategies, goals, applicable governmental and regulatory laws and requirements.
Knowledge and/or experience of business and IT controls, cybersecurity and segregation of duty.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Position location is Irwindale with limited travel across the SCE service territory.
This position may allow for potential industry/technology related events upon approval.
As with other business and technology solutions, this position will require working additional hours leading up to, during, and post-delivery of the solution, as required.
