The Public Safety Program Manager - Senior Advisor will Provide oversight and guidance related to the management of Public Safety programs, such as SCE’s advertising campaigns, infrastructure replacement and hardening programs, Mylar balloon impact programs, and hydroelectric dam safety programs. Support development of public safety governance and oversight policies and procedures. This involves continually improving the operations of the Public Safety Working Team and aligning Public Safety efforts with the direction of the company’s Executive Safety Council and Senior Safety Council. Responsible for managing initiatives and projects and coordinating work activities related to SCE’s public safety efforts. Review and monitor public safety performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
You will leverage industry best practices and available public safety performance metrics and data for recommendations and decision making to impact the development and continuous improvement of SCE’s Public Safety Program. You will provide recommendations and strategic input for overall program guidance, creation of new initiatives and company-wide efforts and providing enterprise-wide awareness to avoid gaps and duplication of efforts.
The Public Safety Incident Response Senior Advisor will will partner with responsible SCE organizations, such as Claims and Law and Transmission and Distribution, in the response to incidents. You will also partner with the Cause Evaluation team to ensure the completion of evaluations related to these incidents. This position will monitor, and lead when appropriate, completion of actions and improvement efforts stemming from cause evaluations and data analytics.
You will lead public safety benchmarking and industry related to best practices. Leading and managing data strategies in an effort to provide SCE senior leadership with information necessary for operational decision making related to public safety is also a part of this position. Partners with Public Safety Team peers to improve enterprise public safety performance by providing data and information to support company-wide programmatic improvements. Through participation in public safety evaluations, investigations, and metrics review, develop recommendations to senior management about decisions that support public safety performance improvements.
Typical Responsibilities: Program Manager Senior Advisor Public Safety:
Develops, documents and manages the SCE Public Safety program.
You will participate in external benchmarking related to public safety program implementation.
The Senior Advisor will plan and implement initial program and engage in continual program improvement efforts.
Supports Public Safety leadership in managing the Public Safety Working Team, which includes representatives from SCE organizations, such as Corporate Communications, Transmission and Distribution, Claims and Law, Operations Support, and Corporate Security.
Participates in the development of public safety data strategies, in an effort to obtain information necessary for senior leadership to make important operational decisions related to SCE’s public safety efforts.
Works with individuals and leadership within SCE organizational units to develop strategies, provide input on strategic direction, and serve as a conduit of information and feedback for SCE’s collective public safety activities, such as SCE’s public safety advertising campaigns and infrastructure replacement programs.
Typical Responsibilities: Public Safety Incident Response Senior Advisor:
This position is responsible for serving as a primary point of contact for public safety incident response and cause evaluations
Leads or co-leads evaluations and investigations related to SCE public safety
Support SCE benchmarking with internal and external groups associated with public safety best practices
Monitors and oversees corrective actions developed during public safety evaluations and investigations
Works with communication team to provide strategic input on public safety messaging
Lead the compilation of public safety metrics and KPI’s to identify additional opportunities to improve public safety performance, working with SCE organizational unit representatives to improve existing data sources in order to allow for company-wide visibility of key public safety indicators and metrics
Ten years of experience creating and implementing or working within project management plans
Experience with Public Safety and/or utility project management
Experience communicating to a wide group of stake holders in written communication
Experience communicating/speaking to all levels of an organization and the public
Experience developing and making presentations for internal and external audiences
Experience in data analytics
BA or BS, MBA or MS
Six Sigma, Lean, PMP, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Safety-related certification, Certifications related to cause evaluation processes
Experience overseeing and managing data analytics functions
Experience in creating and implementing risk management plans
Experience leading teams as either a supervisor or on a matrix basis
Experience in performing complex data analytics

Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Position will require approximately 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory
