This position will be a Senior Supervisor in the Material Transportation group within Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Supply Chain organization. You will be responsible for supervising integrated transportation activities across multiple strategic suppliers; ensuring adequacy of supplier support and performance. In addition, the Senior Supervisor will develop and implement transportation support strategies, supplier performance management, integration of client activities impacted by supplier integration and provide continuous improvement efforts within the supplier and SCE organizations. This position has a represented work force reporting to them.
Provides Safety leadership and direction focused on Safe work practices, Safety improvements, compliance and the advancement of the Safety culture. Establishes local policies and develops department policies.
Provides functional and strategic direction to multiple transportation operations encompassing up to 25 represented (IBEW) and non-represented employees, including the administration of the collective bargaining agreement.
Supervises a range of activities associated with Material Transport operations, including but not limited to: warehousing, distribution, transportation and analysis.
Assist in the development of business objectives and plans.
Lead financial and employee resources.
Provide leadership to bargaining unit employees including counseling, training, selection of personnel and disciplinary action.
Resolve labor inquiries and disputes and provide recommendations to management for revisions to contract.
Assume 24-hour call duties for responsible organization related to system and customer interruptions.
Directly collaborates with various levels of personnel engaged in material management activities.
Supply materials to locations and work crews throughout the SCE service territory on a routine and emergency basis.
Provides subject matter expertise on trucking operations and systems, vehicle regulations and specifications, and federal and state compliance, hours of service requirements, and implement continuous improvement programs.
Five years of experience in the transportation or supply chain management field.
Four years of experience supervising/leading/managing a staff.
Experience working with local and state regulations such as Department of Transportation (DOT) or OSHA/Safety compliance.
Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Operations, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Typically possesses five years of experience specializing in Transportation operations, including warehousing, materials management, and compliance.
Demonstrate experience managing, and implementing Safety programs, processes, and Safety culture change to ensure compliance with local and state regulations such as Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
Experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term logistics and transportation strategies.
Experience with financial planning and managing budgets.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Experience leading a represented (union) workforce.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

This position will potentially require working after hours (possibly including weekends and/or holidays) during emergencies or crises.
