The Sr. Project Advisor will work closely with the Wildfire Program Management Office and Asset Management, Strategy, and Engineering (AMS&E) to evaluate how to best operationalize new processes and technologies.This position provides direction to the Regional Management Team on core philosophies and objectives and work with the WPM core team to develop metrics that will drive the correct behaviors for performance management. The position reports to the WPM Performance & Reporting Sr. Manager and has a matrix relationship to the Distribution organizations and provides functional guidance to the Regional Resource Planning and Performance Managers (RPPMs).

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Reviews long and short-range work requirements and works closely with the WPM Project Management and Execution group to develop a regional work plan that meets the organizational objectives.

  • Provides oversight of Distribution wildfire related work such as inspection-driven remediation, covered conductor, and other WMP unit commodities. Works directly with the WPM Project Management and Execution group to support cost management and tracking, implementation of work management tools, attending scoping and strategy meetings, and focuses the various regions on Distribution’s WMP commitments.

  • Interfaces directly with the AMS&E and Wildfire PMO group to evaluate how to best operationalize a portfolio of ever-evolving wildfire-related project scope.

  • Leads the development and implementation of operationally focused tools and processes which will provide greater visibility to work across all Distribution regions to help ensure projects and programs meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.

  • Represents the department and company as required with contractors, suppliers, and all stakeholders


The essentials

  • Ten or more years of experience implementing or supporting programs.

  • Experience analyzing information and data, developing proposals and solutions, and effectively communicating recommendations to senior leadership.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other discipline.

  • Experience facilitating meetings, developing and engaging in discussions with a variety of audiences and levels across the organization.

  • Experience working with and/or supporting electric utility projects.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Certificate.

  • Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt or 6 Sigma Green Belt.

  • Experience developing project proposals, project plans, business cases, schedule, project scope definition, risk analysis/mitigation plans, resource requirement identification, and monitor progress.

  • Proficiency with SAS and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
