Become a Corporate Payroll, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this key role, you will research and resolve production problems and work closely to refine technical requirements with collaborators. Serving in this role, you will also work on payroll procedures, prepare reports and forecasts for Senior Management. In addition, you will support the SAP payroll solution, participate implementation of SAP Employee Central Payroll, and work the ongoing maintenance of the system and the integration with other systems, business partners, and vendors. You will play a vital role within our highly collaborative Payroll team, Time Keeping and Expense.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Monitor and maintain the system aspects of Corporate Payroll, Timekeeping and Expense.

  • Interact with IT to provide support and guidance on business requirements of payroll processing and how the system can meet those requirements.

  • Act as liaison for Corporate Payroll Operations issues with systems maintenance and benefits administration personnel.

  • Responsible for running and monitoring the system and various system output reports during production of weekly, monthly and bi-weekly paychecks.

  • Project Support: Help facilitate moderately complex Payroll projects involving systems and/or business processes to obtain business goals and operational objectives with oversight from Payroll management and team members.

  • Support SAP Payroll Configuration, by helping maintain SAP Payroll modules to align with organizational policies and legal requirements.

  • Collaborate with subsidiary clients in meeting their payroll needs.

  • Develop and maintain custom reports using SAP reporting tools to meet the evolving needs of the business.

  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

  • Perform ad hoc reporting of data extracts originating from the payroll system for analysis purposes and regulatory requirements.

The Essentials

  • Five or more years of experience as a Payroll Analyst or Technical Payroll position.

  • Five or more years of experience monitoring and maintaining Corporate Payroll and Expenses.

  • Experience with Time Management and SAP Payroll solutions.

  • Experience analyzing data and utilizing Excel or Access to produce reports or queries.

The Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or other related field.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

  • Performing Payroll related functions which include labor allocations, bank reconciliation and general ledger processing.

  • Data mining and reporting.

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors integration.

  • Experience with Employee Central Payroll and SAP S/4 Hana\: including HRSPs, upgrades, maintenance plans, brake-fix ticket resolution, and improvements requests.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
