As a member of the Edison International (EIX) team, the Associate Specialist will focus on Financial Planning & Analysis activities. You will gain exposure to the various functions in Finance and Accounting while analyzing financial data, modeling and forecasting in direct support of Company’s short and long-term strategic plan. The position will require collaborating with Southern California Edison (SCE) and Edison Energy to forecast consolidated long-term financial performance, including determination of credit and liquidity needs of the Company to fund its dividends, operations and investments while maintaining its capital structure. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with senior managers and executives of the Strategic Planning, Corporate Development and Corporate Finance groups to execute on a range of M&A, early stage investment, financing and strategic planning activities.
Typical responsibilities include:
Support the EIX consolidated financial planning model in accordance to our business review and update process
Support the preparation and distribution of our EIX monthly outlooks including financial, liquidity and stock performance updates
Develop and analyze financial information such as models, charts, tables and other exhibits in support of broader FP&A analysis and issue resolution
Prepare and maintain presentation materials summarizing findings, data, analysis and recommendations in a clear and logical manner, for discussion with working teams, presentation to senior management and external clients
Conduct financial research and/or economic analysis, competitive landscape assessments and benchmarking of companies through several means, including subject matter expert interviews, review of industry reports, literature search, and insights from conferences/webinars among others
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the underlying data
Work with FP&A team members to develop operational improvements and enhanced data integration
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong academic or professional experience utilizing financial analysis techniques, tools and concepts to assemble, analyze, and draw conclusions from business data
Ability to learn how to use new tools, techniques, and skills
Demonstrated time management skills; ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and adapt to high paced working environment
Discretion in handling sensitive Company, department and individual performance information
Ability to work independently to gather, analyze, organize, design and present
The primary work location: Rosemead, California.
