Position Overview:

The senior manager of timekeeping will serve as the subject matter expert for all things related to timekeeping. You will provide effective leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members to accomplish functional responsibilities. This position will formulate vision and implement strategies that support overall goals for the company/department. This position will find opportunities for improvements within the timekeeping processes and partner with various departments to deliver thereon. This position will ensure that timekeeping is processed in compliance with ever-changing labor laws, policies and procedures.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic, broad, core business concepts and plans for the timekeeping system focusing on labor laws, policies, past practices and the CBAs for represented timekeeping. Influencing key strategic decisions with SCE's senior management in Labor Relations, Compensation, Legal, Human Resources, IT and Finance.

  • Leads specialized functions of timekeeping that deals with high volumes of transactions.

  • Provides organizational influence on opportunties for improvements and is functionally focused on daily timekeeping activties and policies with strategic planning.

  • Prepare long-term strategic plan as it relates to overall labor costs, studies and other documents that will contribute to the direction and development of departmental business plans and corporate objectives.

  • Additional duties include:

  • Assures goals and objectives from senior level management are carried out.

  • Acts as department lead in his/her manager’s absence

  • Handling data collection and improvement techniques

  • Leading the design of analytical models and methodologies for understanding data and measuring regulatory compliance

  • Develop and implement organizational change plan (entire SCE) as it relates to the timekeeping system.

  • Provides and makes decisions on key timekeeping activities which have an impact on payroll and other departments of the company.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resource or related field

  • 5+ years of experience managing or supervising an organization

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources or related field

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)

  • 7+ years of experience in timekeeping and payroll activities

  • 5+ years of experience in managing or supervising represented employees

  • 3+ years of experience and knowledge in collective bargaining agreements

  • 3+ years of experienced in SAP Payroll process/system development, configuration & implementation

  • Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.


  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, California.

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
