Position Overview

As the IT Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing application services to meet SCE business needs in the SAP Finance, PowerPlan, and non-SAP Finance portfolio.

Provide oversight and strategic direction to the Manage Service Provider (MSP) to ensure efficient service delivery to Enterprise business users and to lead the day-to-day responsibilities to support and maintain applications.

Responsible in supporting Month-end, Year-end, finance, and PowerPlan groups.

Follow up on application services and problem issues. Ensure customer happiness throughout the application service process.

Communicate and coordinate with business and other IT teams and leadership to ensure appropriate integration of operational activities.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assume ownership for all Service Requests.

  • Monitor operational services to ensure that they meet the defined SLAs.

  • Escalate unresolved tasks to higher support levels at the appropriate time.

  • Make appropriate use of available resources to resolve Service Requests (people, tools, and processes, additional or re-assigned tasks).

  • Communicates the service requests status internally and externally as applicable.

  • Interface with other process/function as required in resolving Service Requests Work Orders.

  • Review all SRM reports to seek improvement opportunities.

  • Create RFCs from Work Orders, complete Service Requests resolution, as required, following the Change Management process.

  • Attend SLA review meetings, as requested.

  • Represent SRM at CAB meetings, if required.

  • Perform the Service Request Manager role for SRM.

  • Plan and manage support for the SRM tools and processes.

  • Coordinate interfaces between SRM and other service management processes.

  • Partner and effectively collaborate with the business and other operational towers within IT (like Infrastructure, Security, and Service Integration) to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Integrate with the Plan organization to ensure that projects are designed with operational needs and efficiencies. Collaborate with the Delivery organization to influence the strategy and decisions made during the project life cycle. Integrate with the Planning and Architecture teams for operational initiatives and roadmap development.

  • Execute IT service management governance processes, policies, standards, and procedures for SAP Finance, PowerPlan and non-SAP Finance to deliver high quality IT services and to improve execution effectiveness.

  • Assist in reviewing and in approving technical delivery products from MSP to ensure they satisfy the ongoing business requirements, ITIL process standards, and related requirements.

  • Participate in strategic budget planning to meet strategic goals and operational efficiency with emphasis on application stability and data integrity. Ensure budget is spent in an efficient manner with priorities that align with what we value and mission statement.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of technical experience in application development & maintenance, integration systems, databases, and job scheduling environment.

  • You have service management experience and operational responsibility of multiple applications and database environments.

  • Experience with Finance and Accounting.

  • Experience in working in IT Operations in a managed services environment.

  • Experience with having technical conversations or making technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.

  • S4 and PowerPlan experience in electric utility industry.

  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices, processes and principles.

  • Deep understanding of Finance and PowerPlan Applications such as Month-End, Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Financial Close, and Tax Management, Treasury and Cash Management, Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk and Compliance, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Real Estate Management, Travel and Expense Management.

  • ITIL Foundation Certified.

  • PMP Certified.
