In this job, you’ll lead a team of financial analysts, advisors, and senior advisors, while providing business partner and decision support to the operating units across SCE. The individual will serve as the department’s liaison with the centralized Business Planning, Regulatory Affairs, and other Finance teams to develop and implement applicable governance to achieve best practices in Capital and O&M planning and forecasting approaches and methodologies. In addition, you’ll lead and/or provide direction on enterprise-wide financial, regulatory, and decision-support analyses. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead a team responsible for performing and preparing sophisticated financial modeling, analysis and reporting on financial plans, capital investments and expenditures, capital recovery, capital structure, acquisitions and/or divestitures in support of short- and long-term strategic planning activities

  • Translation of operating plans including: (1) review and challenge assumptions and cost estimates used to develop operating budgets and regulatory filings (General Rate Case); (2) ensure alignment with Corporate strategic direction and goals; and (3) monitor financial performance against operating plans

  • Provide leadership to team on the development of monthly financial analysis and Outlook for SCE’s Corporate Expenses to senior management

  • Lead monthly O&M and Capital budget vs actual reporting process

  • Lead or participate in various finance projects that may include, but are not limited to, participating in designing and implementing new financial software for financial analysis and reporting, addressing internal/external audit findings, reviewing, approving and interpreting regulatory requirements, consulting with senior leaders on complex compliance issues that impact the Company, financings, divestitures and acquisitions; proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the OUs ability to meet strategic and financial objectives; conduct ad-hoc financial analysis for projects and develops financial models to determine the economic feasibility of proposed projects or investments

  • Manage resources to meet strategic objectives and operational needs including planning of the workload; make, recommend and/or approve employment decisions (e.g., hiring, promotion, salary planning, rewards/recognition, succession planning, termination); manage employee performance for both direct and/or matrixed reports; establish performance expectations and goals aligned with Company objectives, policies and procedures; manage, train, and develop staff by providing timely feedback, coaching and support; demonstrate Company values through decisions and actions

  • Promotethe Company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment


The essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Five (5) years of experience managing or supervising direct reports or matrixed teams in the finance and/or accounting functions

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field

  • CPA and/or CMA Certification

  • Seven (7) years of combined experience managing, supervising, or leading teams over finance functions

  • Two (2) years of experience in utility finance

  • Experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic planning activities, including financial modeling and analysis

  • Experience with translating operating plans to financial operating budgets

  • Experience with General Rate Case regulatory processes

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

  • Ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact

  • Strong leadership, communication and negotiating skills to build consensus with stakeholders to develop and maintain partnerships with support organizations and senior management

  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to follow Edison Safety protocols and principals and also be personally engaged as a safety leader
