The job …

The Senior Mobile Development Engineer will lead mobile development on multiple Scrum teams as part of SCE’s Digital Center of Excellence with the goal of disruptive innovation through design thinking and agile based methodologies, coupled with advanced technology platforms.  

Detailed stuff you will be doing …

  • Design, develop and implement mobile apps to run on iPhone, iPad, Android handsets and tablets or Windows mobile devices

  • Translate designs, wireframes, and mockups into highly composable code

  • Write clean code, code reviews, and automation testing

  • Review, analyze and resolve application issues as needed

  • Evaluate strategies and make recommendations on changes and improvements

  • Participate and provide feedback during planning meetings (i.e., pre-iteration, iteration, and retrospectives)

  • Develop and track software development using AGILE/SCRUM methodology as part of a small software development team

  • Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of new functionalities based on business needs

  • Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies to evaluate impact to business value.


Qualifications you need …

You possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and Nine (9) or more years of hands-on application development experience.

Five or more years of experience implementing mobile apps (iOS, Android, and Web)using:

  • Web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)

  • Back-end frameworks (Node.js, Express, etc.) as well as experience with mobile development (React Native, Cordova/PhoneGap, Swift, Java, etc.)

  • Database development and modeling experience in SQL and/or NoSQL architectures as well as experience in Web-based integration protocols (e.g. REST, JSON, SOAP, WS*, etc.)

  • Three or more years of experience of Agile product development methodologies working in Scrum teams

Other stuff you should also have …

  • Graduate Degree in Business, Leadership, or relevant technical discipline. 

  • Experience in deploying solutions on cloud-based (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) architectures in Microsoft Azure

  • Experience in integrating with large scale SAP systems
